This autumn, we’re bringing film back to film. Join us on the first Monday of every month for special screenings projected from 16mm and 35mm prints.
There is something different about watching a film on film. The colour, depth and texture. The flicker of the projector. The occasional marks left by a print that has travelled between cinemas and been enjoyed by audiences over time.
Beginning this October, FACT presents 16mm and 35mm screenings on the first Monday of every month. From rarely screened cult films and rediscovered classics to much-loved favourites that deserve the big screen, each event is a chance to experience cinema in its original physical form.
At every screening, one lucky film-goer will be invited into the projection room to start the film. You’ll step behind the scenes, see the reels and specialist equipment up close, and discover the increasingly rare skills that bring film to life on the big screen.
Our first three screenings, all presented on 35mm, are now on sale, with many more films to be announced.
