Moving between strange narratives, fragmented images and moments of visual abstraction, the screening invites audiences to encounter these films afresh through contemporary electronic sound.

Jez Thelwell performs newly composed soundtracks for Frankenstein and Nude Woman by Waterfall, while La French responds live to L’Étoile de mer and Disturbances. The Metamorph completes the programme with an original score accompanying Entr’acte. Join us after the performances for a Q+A with the artists.

Moolakii Club Audio Interface is a Wirral-based DIY platform for peripheral underground experimental electronic music, founded by Jez Thelwell. Working across live events, physical releases, zines, interviews and workshops, it creates space for artists operating around ambient, drone, sound art, modular electronics and other less easily defined forms.

Its projects include the Live Soundtracks to Silent Films series, which pairs contemporary electronic musicians with early, silent and experimental cinema. Moolakii Club also publishes the MCPM zine and releases small-batch music by artists working across the UK underground.
