David Liddell joins us to discuss his long-term collaboration with artist Rachel Maclean and the creative possibilities of green screen technology. David collaborated with Rachel on her latest project, They’ve Got Your Eyes, a multi-channel film work created using green screen and AI models trained on her own image and artistic archive.

Daniel specialises in virtual production and teaching with Unreal Engine. Together, David and Daniel will consider how emerging technologies are transforming filmmaking processes and expanding the possibilities of storytelling.

The pair will explore the evolution of production techniques, from green screen to virtual production, and the potential of AI, using Rachel Maclean’s latest project as a key point of discussion. They'll examine how production methods shape storytelling, and how narrative can influence production choices. The conversation will also look ahead to the future of film production and storytelling in an era of rapidly evolving technologies.

Visit They’ve Got Your Eyes at FACT until Sunday 16 August. Find out more
