A glossy body, dewy petals glittering. Beading into liquid crystals.
Floating on the surface. Seductive and sparkling.
Eyes blink open bathed in rainbowed light.
She hangs, weightless, turning, dancing.
Rapture.
Hidden.
Tangled roots contort below. Submerged in the black mirror.
In the liquid void it looks back. Rippling.
Roots creep, reaching, wrapping, tying in knots.
Dense and heavy as they snatch at ankles.
Glitch. Caught in a momentary syncope.
Composure dissolves in a twisting jerk. A dislocation.
The rift folds in on itself, seeping into pools. Pushing into one another.
False division flails and fragments. Ink spills and stains.
It won’t wash out.
