Games have been quietly shaping the world for longer than most people realise.
The third edition of FACT's journal, Gamespace, gathers conversations, essays and curatorial reflections in an attempt to model what a more critical engagement with games might look like from within an art institution, with full awareness of the risks that position carries: of lending legitimacy rather than applying scrutiny, of celebrating a medium while leaving its conditions of production unexamined, of using the tools of the system to critique the system and finding, in the end, that the system wins.
