The Telepresence Garment contains telecommunications technology that allows the user to be remotely guided through an integrated webcam and a speaker. The garment becomes a second skin of fabric that restricts the movement of its wearer. Through wireless communication the 'other' takes control of the individual's perspective.

The piece comments on the effects of technological body extensions and wearable technologies, linking abstract and teleported realities to concrete experience. By creating this 'zomborg', Kac not only enquires about how technologies mediate our exploration of the world, but how they shape the very world we inhabit. Eduardo Kac's artworks investigate the potential of telepresence, robotics, biotelematics and transgenics.
