Sharon Houkema's installation gives the onlooker a view of the Moon from underwater. There is real water, real mist, and a real NASA picture. The mix of tangible, performative and depictive elements reflect the illusionary nature of the piece, but with such simplicity that the image-making process can be traced. The moon-image - often surrounded with mysticism, romanticism and fantasy - is rendered intelligible, yet the magic doesn't disappear: it merely switches position. Using an overhead projector and a bucket of water Houkema conjures a moon so tantalisingly close you can almost hold it.
