Penny Press the Internet (2015)

Aram Bartholl’s work Penny Press the Internet creates an interplay between the Internet, culture and reality. These versatile communication channels are taken for granted, but how do they influence us?

For Follow, Bartholl has adapted a Penny Press, typically found at tourist destinations across the globe, to generate pressed penny souvenirs of your recent visit to the Internet. This work brings the Internet into real life, encouraging us to re-think our understanding of online space and the time we spend there. Limited signed editions related to this work are available at the Gallery Information desk.
