Tuesday 11 September / 11am - 2pm / FACT / Free, drop-in (no booking required)
Young at Art is a socially engaged arts project working with Older Adults in the Liverpool City Region. It is produced through a partnership between Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT), Open Eye Gallery (OEG) and Happy Older People (HOP), which is led by National Museums Liverpool.
Join us to launch our partnership with drop in activities, games and workshops to find out more about our work with older adults and how you can get involved.
FACT’s Digital Ambassadors invite you to play Scouse Island, produced through workshops with artist Hwa Young Jung. Taking the form of a table top Role Playing Game (RPG), Scouse Island imagines Liverpool as a independent island utopia.
Open Eye Gallery will be offering portraits of attendees as part of their new collaborative photography project with artist Tony Mallon and the Northwoods Golden Years group from Kirkby (Knowsley). They will also present a project with photographic artist and producer Liz Wewiora with FACT's Digital Ambassadors group exploring the rich history of the Liverpool River Mersey and industrial past.
Happy Older People (HOP) will be sharing how their network connects older people to arts and cultural activity across the Liverpool City Region and invite you to watch a short film about how older people have benefitted from participating in the HOP network, and find out more about opportunities to get involved.
