Reverb

Wednesday 29 August / After Talk To Her (approx. 8.45pm) / The Box / Free, booking required

Join FACT for Reverb, a night of poetry and discussion, offering a new space for poets, writers and creatives to combine the world of both written and spoken word with art. Looking to Liverpool Biennial 2018’s theme Beautiful world, where are you?, Reverb invites new and undiscovered writers to share existing work or new responses to this question.

Reverb is inspired by Agnes Varda’s ability to create unique narratives and document the world around her, away from traditional film techniques. When visiting FACT in July 2018, Varda spoke in detail about the importance of the image, especially in relation to how people may respond to it; an example being her work Ulysse, and how through film she is able to tell the story of a photograph, and the collective memories associated with it.

We look to poetry and spoken word to translate our surroundings and experiences into another type of non-traditional narrative. Reverb gives space for spoken word commentary from new and exciting perspectives.
