Contemporary Japanese New Media Art

FACT, in collaboration with JETAA present an afternoon of conversation around New Media Art and the growing creative relationship between Liverpool and Kobe.

The event will introduce listeners to FACT's international exhibition and research programmes, highlighting acclaimed past projects involving Japanese artists including Ryoichi Kurokawa and Keiko Kimotoa.

This will also be a chance to learn more about other Japanese artists making headlines in the UK; namely Daito Watanabe at Bluedot / Jodrell Bank and Meiro Koizuri who exhibited as part of Liverpool Biennial 2010, and finally the international scope for FACT's newest project Aurora, which opens at Toxteth Reservoir in September and explores humanity's relationship with water.

The event will close with a workshop, led by Mike Stubbs, on possibilities for a cultural exchange program opportunities in Kobe for the 25 year commemoration of the Kobe Earthquake and the lead up to the Japan Olympics 2020.
