- Part of...Networked Narrative
Banner, digital print on PVC; 200cm x 70cm
Located on Library Street lamp posts outside Wigan Town Town, Kyle Johnston's text is wistful, yearning and painfully simple; surrounded in space by stars and dark matter. Kyle’s words gives us a glimpse into his life, where dogs are an important part of his family and (since the workshops) he is getting a puppy this month!

“I think it’s a good message and my teacher thinks it’s great. Dogs have always been part of my family. We have had a Staffie Bull Terrier and German Shepherd, which was really furry and great to sleep and lie on. Since working with Mark last year, I am very excited to be getting a puppy this month? I feel good. It’s exciting. I will be well proud! I can’t believe this is happening and that people will get to see my words when they are out and about. I think my mum will be very shocked to see it in Wigan”.
Words by Kyle Johnston, aged 13 from Wigan.
The screensavers will appear in fifteen libraries: Ashton Library, Aspull Library, Atherton Library, Golborne Library, Hindley Library, Hope Community Library, Ince Library, Lamberhead Green Library, Leigh Library, Marsh Green Library, Platt Bridge Library, Shevington Library, Standish Library, Tyldesley Library & Wigan Library.
What I want more than anything else by Mark Titchner is commissioned by FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), in partnership with Hull Culture & Leisure Library Service, Inspiring healthy lifestyles and Lancashire County Council.
