We can’t wait to welcome you back but our number one priority is keeping our community safe. We want to let you know exactly how we’re doing this, so you can plan and enjoy your visit.

FACT Galleries will reopen from Wednesday 12 August.

Picturehouse at FACT will reopen from Friday 31 July.

The Garden by LEAF will sadly not reopen. More information below.

As a building, we are united in the protection of our visitors and have introduced new health and safety measures to keep you safe during your visit:

  • Displaying clear signage inside and outside of the building to encourage social distancing.
  • A one-way system to help you get around the building with plenty of space.
  • Installing hand sanitising stations on each floor of the building for all to use. We are also asking all visitors to sanitise their hands as soon as they enter the building.
  • Frequently cleaning high contact points such as toilets, handrails, lifts and doors.
  • Limiting capacity in all spaces (galleries, cinema screens etc)
  • Ensuring sanitising hand soap is provided in all of our toilets. We have also reduced the number of toilet cubicles, sinks and hand dryers to promote social distancing.
  • Encouraging contactless payment methods where possible.
  • COVID-19 training for all teams.
  • Placing extra members of our team throughout the building, at a distance, to help guide you and answer any questions you may have.

OPENING TIMES

We have also changed our opening times. This ensures that we can provide you with the safest possible experience by having more staff available to help and allowing our team the flexibility to travel to and from FACT in off-peak times.

Visiting the Galleries

In addition to these building measures, we are taking extra precautions inside our galleries, cinema screens, bar and café.

From Wednesday 12 August, our galleries will open with a brand new exhibition, And Say the Animal Responded? The exhibition is about animals and what they might say to us about the state of our shared planet. We have carefully planned the exhibition to ensure your health and safety comes first. This includes:

  • Monitoring the number of visitors and limiting capacity in each of the galleries to ensure there is plenty of space for you to visit. Find out more about the current exhibition by visiting What’s On.
  • Kindly asking you to follow the one-way system throughout the galleries, giving priority to those with access needs and use the floor markers to adhere to the social distancing measures.
  • Free audio guides will be available for all artworks and exhibition texts which can be accessed through any mobile phone by scanning the QR codes in the gallery.
  • We have removed objects that could become high contact points.
  • We have removed all headphones from artworks with audio and replaced these with speakers.
  • For those that are unable to visit, there will be a 360° online edition of the exhibition along with an online programme of podcasts, videos, activities and live streams.

You can access our free online programme, The Living Planet, 24/7 and we will be sharing talks, tours, artworks and more, over the coming months.

Visiting Picturehouse at FACT

In order to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for employees and audiences, Picturehouse made some important changes. You can read Picturehouse’s new safety guidelines here.

The Garden by LEAF is Closed

We are very sad to share the news that The Garden by LEAF will not be reopening at FACT. This is an incredibly difficult time for all businesses and hospitality is facing an unprecedented challenge. We want to take this opportunity to say thank you for all of the memories, the pots of tea, the warm welcome and the peaceful escape you always provided. It’s so important that we all support our independent businesses and cultural venues as we get back on our feet. We wish LEAF all the best and urge you to visit them at one of their Liverpool locations: Bold Street, Smithdown Road and West Kirby. Where’s there’s tea, there’s hope. We will miss you. More news about our future plans for this space coming soon! Stay up to date by signing up to our newsletter.
