Having enjoyed a short but sweet run at the Small Cinema earlier in the year, IndieFlicks, a monthly festival showcasing short films from around the world, is making a triumphant return to Liverpool at FACT on Wood Street.

Launched in Manchester in 2015, the festival has expanded to venues across the country including Sheffield and London and has built a loyal following with a growing international reputation on the festival circuit as one of Britain’s foremost short film festivals. Moving forward, the plan is to base an IndieFlicks screening in every major city in the UK.

Says festival director John Pank, ‘Liverpool has a thriving film community and so when the Small Cinema unfortunately closed, we were eager to bring IndieFlicks back here as soon as possible. The opportunity to partner with FACT which is such an important focal point for cinema and culture in the city, is something we are very excited about.’

The ‘Take Two’ screening is set up to be a repeat of the programme shown on the first Wednesday of each month in Manchester, London & Sheffield. This allows those who are unable to travel a second chance to catch the lineup. It also allows us to share quality short film with the people of Liverpool.

The festival may also feature Q&A’s with local filmmakers and people who work in the film industry. The event is relaxed, fun and you can even bring your drinks in from the bar! So whether you fancy yourself as the next Steven Spielberg or just want to watch a selection of short films, you may find that IndieFlicks at Fact are what Mondays are made for.
