10. Super Mario
Super Mario has always been a great game to play and an easy one to begin with if you're new to gaming. You play a plumber named Mario who goes on a quest to save a Princess from either a Gorilla or a Dragon, often accompanied by his brother Luigi.  

9. Sonic the Headghog
Sonic is a blue hedgehog from another planet who has the power of speed and control over minerals known as the Chaos Emeralds. As Sonic, you will often play in battles against enemy named Dr Robotnik (later Dr Eggman) who wants the Chaos Emeralds for himself in order to control Sonic’s world. 

8. Undertale
Undertale is an RPG game for PC and Mac in which you play a human child navigating the dark Underground, which is a place full of monsters battling against humanity. You muct choose whether to befriend or kill the monsters, like the friendly skeleton Sans and the dark elements mixed with humour are what make this game so fun to play.

7. Lego games franchise
Lego toys are fun and creative but Lego games are even cooler! The first Lego game to be released was Lego Star Wars and the newest is Lego Jurassic World, which tied in to the recent Chris Pratt-led movie - a hit with kids and adults alike!

6. The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
The fifth in the Elder Scrolls franchise, your main objective is to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. A traditional RPG, you run around completing missions, collecting loot and weapons and exploring the vast ladnscape of this fantasy world.

5. Halo Franchise
In Halo you play a soldier called the Spartan, fighting on an alien planet in the great battle between humanity and an alliance known as The Covenant. With multi-player and online modes this one is a huge hit and no won it's fifth instalment

4. Assassin’s Creed franchise
If you like time travel and defeating the bad guys then this is the game for you! This game allows you to become an assassin with awesome weapons, a cool suit (for wherever you end up in history) and the ability to time travel and be part of important historical moments from The Crusades to the French Revolution.

3. Fallout 4
Set in a distant, post-apocalyptic future where the war is over, but violence still reigns supreme, humans are killing each other for food and medicine. In order to survive you need a trained dog and a lot of weapons. Thankfully the character you play is named Sole Survivor and he has everything he needs to take on the end of the world.

Let’s face it even if you weren’t expecting this game on the list it is. FIFA is a popular game for football fans and couch potatoes alike - it's football in your front room.

1. Arkham Franchise
Batman has always been cool and who doesn’t love Harley Quinn’s new style? Batman: Arkham Knight was the fastest selling game of 2015 and its obvious why. From battling all of Batman’s greatest and worst enemies ever, to solving puzzles, navigating intricate levels and scoring a brand new bat suit every now and then, the game has it all!
