A young generation takes centre stage in Nabil Ayouch's brash and bold Casablanca Beats, an exhilarating portrait of aspiring hip-hop artists which played in competition at Cannes. Former rapper Anas takes a job at a cultural centre in a working-class neighbourhood in Casablanca. Encouraged by their new teacher, his students will try to free themselves from the weight of certain restrictive traditions in order to live their passions and express themselves through hip-hop. Selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at Cannes.

“Grittily authentic tale of students finding their authentic voices is a class act” - ★★★★ Mark Kermode
