The Worlding showcase is an integral part of the project Portos Conectados: Building Digital Worlds and Encounters between Porto Alegre and Liverpool, which also includes an artistic residency and an online publication.

The project begins with an initial reflection on what can be identified as the main affinity between Porto Alegre and Liverpool: their port condition. Even though ports no longer hold the same centrality as in the past, the cities projected themselves into the world—each in their own way and with profound urban, social, and ecological implications—through these spaces.

Drawing from the image of ports as places of connection and exchange, we propose imagining new routes, where the flow of goods and people gives way to the exchange of ideas, fabulations, and artistic creations. Beyond focusing on the two cities, the showcase uses audiovisual works to explore other perspectives on urban spaces—real or fictional—that exceed the geographic boundaries of Porto Alegre and Liverpool.

Dedicated to Brazilian audiovisual art, the showcase addresses themes such as: images that think cities; narratives that build worlds; soundscapes; imagined territories; speculative cities; alternative communities; architectural constructions and natural formations; ruins; human and non-human flows.
