Are you an artist looking for a desk space for the day? Do you want to meet other creatives and digital practitioners? Then join us for a Studio/Lab open day! Our open days are held on the last Friday of every month and run between 11:00-17:00. 

Here’s what you can expect →

• Access to Studio/Lab for up to 6 hours, including a desk space and complimentary tea and coffee.
• Opportunities to meet and connect with digital artists, practitioners, researchers, and other creatives interested in Studio/Lab, as well as current members who can share the inside scoop.
• For 2025, we're excited to introduce 'Try Something New' sessions! These hands-on workshops and knowledge-sharing events will focus on a range of digital skills and opportunities, led by artists, arts organisations, and members of the Studio/Lab team.

Try Something New

FRI 31 JAN

This month, our Try Something New session will be led by Studio/Lab Technology Producer, Mali Draper. Mali, an artist and sound designer, will be on hand to guide you through the basics of creating with sound. Play with professional-grade microphones and MIDI controllers, test out the capabilities of different editing softwares, and get to grips with the basics of sound recording workflows. 

FRI 28 FEB

In February, we'll host an informal drop-in with local organisation, RAWD (Random Acts of Wildness Disability). RAWD is a North West based charity that produces inclusive arts experiences and performances which all present and amplify the disabled perspective. They’ll be on hand to share more about the work they do and the ways you can get involved! 

FRI 28 MAR

March's session will focus on 3D technologies, led by Mali. Experiment with Polycam, handheld scanners and 3D printing using resin and PLA. This hands-on drop-in workshop is perfect for beginners and experimenters.
