Are you an artist looking for a desk space for the day? Do you want to meet other creatives and digital practitioners? Then join us for a Studio/Lab open day! Our open days are held on the last Friday of every month and run between 11:00-16:00. This season, open days will take place on 30 May and 27 June.
Here’s what you can expect →
- Access to Studio/Lab for up to 5 hours
- A desk space for you to work
- Unlimited free tea and coffee
- Opportunities to meet and connect with digital artists, practitioners, researchers, and other creatives interested in Studio/Lab, as well as current members who can share the inside scoop
- For 2025, we're excited to introduce 'Try Something New' sessions! These hands-on workshops and knowledge-sharing events will focus on a range of digital skills and opportunities, led by artists, arts organisations, and members of the Studio/Lab team
Try Something New
FRI 30 MAY
Drop-in to explore unique microphones like contact, underwater, and electromagnetic mics — perfect for curious creators and sonic experimenters! Discover new ways to capture the world’s hidden sounds in this playful and immersive informal session.
FRI 27 JUNE
Join us for a day of learning 3D printing workflows and unleash your creativity! This hands-on drop in session introduces you to designing, slicing, and printing your own unique 3D models, offering a fun and practical way to explore 3D technology.

ABOUT STUDIO/LAB
Studio/Lab is a space for creative experimentation that nurtures a vibrant community of artists, researchers and technologists. Located on the top floor, Studio/Lab is dedicated to supporting your practice, creating new work, and providing opportunities to present and test your ideas.
With Studio/Lab membership, enjoy access to a large city-centre workspace including video and sound editing studios, new-generation technology, entry-level immersive kit, and digital production tools. You’ll be able to attend knowledge-sharing opportunities with artists and creatives who have expertise in a wide range of practices, as well as community meetings and socials.
