Part of the Spring 2019 season

Join us for a teachers and educators workshop that will focus on storytelling, fairy tales and fables. Together, we’ll look at how females are portrayed and question if technology and internet culture had changed those archetypes.

10:00 - 10:30

Introduction to the day

10:20 - 11:15

Activity 1: How do young people decode and make sense of female archetypes?

11:30 - 12:15

Presentation by Francesca Sobande, Lecturer, Digital Media Studies Lecturer, Cardiff University

12:15 - 13:00

Activity 2: Has technology and internet culture changed those archetypes?

Our Schools Programme experiments with the idea of the gallery as an expanded classroom. Embedding STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) in everything we do, we design a series of activities, workshops for young people; collaborate with teachers to co-design bespoke learning resources, and organise CPD sessions and professional events for educators. We bring together artists and participants to produce and co-design artworks and creative tools.
