Who We Are

We are a friendly hard-working team of 30-40 staff from differing backgrounds and experience levels, who share a passion for film, art and technology. People are at the centre of FACT and we value all of the individuals that share our story - the team, the artists and the visitors. FACT is structured into teams:

  • Director's Office
  • Programme (Exhibitions, Learning & Studio/Lab)
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Development
  • Operations (Building, Visitor Services & Finance)

Together, we work collaboratively to deliver memorable experiences for diverse local and global audiences. We share our building with Picturehouse, a separate company, who operate the cinema and bar and with whom we work closely to give visitors a great experience.

What We Do

We aim to provide a world-class artistic programme of contemporary art that engages with digital culture, science and new technologies. We create exciting opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to participate in art, film, and creative technology projects. Our talent and skills development opportunities enable young people and emerging creative professionals to develop their practices and careers.

We commission and produce artworks, exhibitions, projects and events that bring people together, physically and virtually, from all over the world.

Vibrant Liverpool

Our award-winning centre opened in 2003 in the heart of vibrant Liverpool, close to all major transport links. Our centre houses three art galleries, four cinema screens, a Studio/Lab for learning and experimentation, a cafè, and a bar. Each year we welcome over 250,000 visitors to our building, and collaborate with over 10,000 adults and young people through our Learning Programme, which we deliver in partnership with schools and community organisations across the Liverpool City Region.

Volunteering, Internships and Work Experience

FACT does not currently have a volunteer programme and we are unable to offer student internships or work experience placements to people under the age of 18. Any future opportunities will be advertised on the jobs section of the website, within our newsletter and across our social media channels. We are unable to accept applications to volunteer, intern or work experience placements in the meantime.

Q: What makes a good Cover Letter?

A: A good cover letter lets us know how your experience and skills match the job requirements that feature in the job description. We are keen to know why you are interested in working at FACT, what you can bring to a role and what you hope the role can offer you.

Q: Can I apply for a vacancy at FACT, if I haven’t worked directly in that type of role before?

A: We welcome applications from people with a diverse range of transferable skills. Let us know in the cover letter, how your experience could meet the job requirements of the role at FACT.

Q: Can I submit my application in a different format?

Q: Are the full-time vacancies open to job shares or part-time hours?

A: We will list if a role is open to job-share or part-time applications within the recruitment pack.

A: We do not hold CV’s on file, so encourage you to check our current vacancies or sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with job opportunities at FACT.

Q: Do you sponsor work visas at FACT?

A: FACT is unable to sponsor work visas, so candidates would need to have the right to work in the UK at the time of applying.
