Listing features: FACT Event
A man called Jake lives alone in a ramshackle house in the middle of the forest. Seen across the seasons surviving frugally and passing the time with strange projects, he is living the radical dream he had as a younger man.
Ben Rivers' debut feature-length work, shot on 16mm film, extends his relationship with Jake, first encountered in his short This is My Land.
The event will be followed by a Q&A with Ben Rivers
About the Biennial Film Programme
As part of The Unexpected Guest, FACT and the Liverpool Biennial present one of the most ambitious programmes of contemporary artist film ever seen in Liverpool, all of which are inspired by the Biennial's theme of Hospitality.
Through a series of weekly film screenings, Q&A sessions, and film forums, we present a survey of contemporary practice in artist film and video focusing on the recent propensity of artists to work in the medium to feature-length format.
