It's been 12 long years since Kermit and the gang's last big-screen outing, 1999's MUPPETS FROM SPACE. Now everyone's favourite fuzzy creatures are firmly back where they belong, and they've brought some new faces along for the ride. In Smalltown, Gary (Segel) and his brother Walter (a muppet) have long dreamed of meeting their Muppet Show heroes, and they set off on a pilgrimage to the famous Muppet Theater in Los Angeles along with Gary's girlfriend Mary (Adams).

To their horror, however, the theatre is rundown and in the process of being sold to a shady oil tycoon named Tex Richman (Cooper) who plans to demolish the site. After tracking down Kermit, our plucky trio convince him to get the band back together for one epic fund-raising show.
