The Jarman Award Shortlist plus Q&A

Film London and FACT, Liverpool present a special screening showcasing work by the 10 artists short listed for this year's prestigious Jarman Award, an annual prize celebrating the work of innovative UK artist filmmakers.

This year's short list includes a veritable list. The nominees are: Brad Butler & Karen Mirza, Marcus Coates, Shezad Dawood, Benedict Drew, Nathaniel Mellors, James Richards, Ben Rivers, Aura Satz, Matt Stokes and Jon Thomson & Alison Craighead.

During this special screening we will be showing works from all of the filmmakers and will be joined by James Richards, one of the most exciting artists working with video in the UK, for a Q and A.

The Film London  Jarman  Award is an annual prize inspired by one of Britain's most innovative, esteemed and controversial artists of the late 20th century, Derek  Jarman.  Launched in 2008, the  award celebrates the experimentation, innovation and excellence of UK filmmakers and the nominees have been shortlisted by experts including Stuart Comer, Curator of Film at Tate Modern; Mark Cousins, critic/film-maker and Aaron Cezar, Director of Delfina Foundation
