The story of a travelling circus of freaks who exact a terrible revenge on a beautiful trapeze artist and her strong-man lover after one of their number is nearly murdered for his fortune, FREAKS was disowned by MGM and banned in Britain until the 1960s. A deliciously dark and macabre affair, it has since come to be rightly recognised as horror maestro Browning’s masterpiece and a classic of the genre.
