14 and 16 August / 2pm - 6pm / FACTLab / FREE
Everybody’s got something to sing about, but some of us just don’t know how to compose. In this two day workshop we will use computer scripts, karaoke files and online translation/pronunciation services to reinterpret and re-appropriate pop songs and make computers sing our social media streams. The workshop will end with an online transmission, radio show-style!
This workshop is based on projects by Thiago Hersan and Maximilian Lawrence who have been researching and experimenting with different kinds of voice synthesis and conceptual mashup techniques. Development support for this has been provided by The Hacktory in Philadelphia and Impakt in Utrecht.
Programming experience is a plus, but not required, and please bring your own laptop. (Linux, Mac prefered, but not required).
Note: This is a two day workshop, and booking your place will register you for both days.
This event is no longer running.
