3rd July, 1st Aug & 5th September / 2-4pm / National Oceanography Centre, Joseph Proudman Building, 6 Brownlow Street, Liverpool, L3 5DA
Visit University of Liverpool’s National Oceanography Centre to see two recently restored Tide Prediction Machines, as used at Bidston Observatory. The carefully engineered devices simulate the rise and fall of the ocean tide, and were used to produce tide tables for ports - and prove a precursor for Rachel Jacobs’ work, which explores how to ‘perform’ scientific data.
