11 March 2016 / 8pm / Music Room at the Liverpool Philharmonic / SOLD OUT
Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurokawa produces exceptional audio/visual performances that act as symphonies of sounds.
As part of his upcoming exhibition Unfold at FACT, this performance explores abstract and musical patterns. In this work, simultaneity and synaesthesia - the correspondence of sensations and perceptions, such as sounds and colours - play masterfully on harmony and dissonance creating a breathtaking experience for the audience.
Kurokawa´s works are shown at international festivals and museums including Tate Modern, Venice Biennale, Transmediale, and Sonar. In 2010, he was awarded the Golden Nica at Prix Ars Electronica in the Digital Musics & Sound Art category. Unfold will be presented at FACT from 10 March, 2016.
This performance is presented by FACT in partnership with Liverpool Philharmonic.
