Michaela Grill (laptop), Karl Lemieux (16mm projection) and Philip Jeck (turntables) convene for an an improvised audio-visual performance at FACT, investigating the interface between analogue and digital. Computer-generated and 16mm images merge and collide into one projection, whilst the sound signal is used to generate or manipulate certain aspects of these images. All three artists are connected on several levels and produce an atmospherically dense amalgam of images and sounds.
PHILIP JECK (UK) works with old records and record players salvaged from junk shops creating an intensely personal language that evolves with each added part of a record. www.philipjeck.com.
MICHAELA GRILL (Austria) Studied in Vienna, Glasgow and London. Various film- and video works, installations and live visuals since 1999. Performances and screenings on 5 continents.
KARL LEMIEUX (Canada) is a co-founder of Double Negative, a film collective based in Montréal focused on the production and screening of experimental film and has worked on several music and performance- based live projections (eg Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Hiss Tracts).
