This eloquent film focuses onthe experiences of workers at the Tate and Lyle sugar refinery that closed in 1981. We hear first hand of their struggles against a major multinational as they came together to protect their jobs, homes and community.
This project, lovingly crafted by public historian Ron Noon, intelligently questions the cultural, social and historical impact of industrial sugar production from a very human perspective.
