Friday 8 July / 4pm - 8pm / Galleries 1, 2 and FACT Connects Space / FREE, drop-in
Join us for the opening of Liverpool Biennial 2016 at FACT!
In Gallery 1, we present works by Krzysztof Wodiczko, who uses technology and prosthetics to explore themes of immigration and displacement, as in the immersive installation Guests. Lucy Beech’s new film Pharmakon (in Gallery 2), co commissioned by Liverpool Biennial and FACT, explores how disease operates in an era of mass communication. And in the foyer, Yin-Ju Chen's Extrastellar Evaluations considers humanity from an extraterrestrial point of view.
To celebrate the opening, we'll be open after hours, allowing you to explore the exhibition throughout the evening and enjoy complimentary drinks in The Box. The lovely team from The Garden at FACT will be providing tea-infused gin cocktails, iced teas and soft drinks throughout the evening.
After FACT, head to Bluecoat from 5pm for the opening of Bloomberg New Contemporaries (part of Liverpool Biennial 2016) along with a BBQ, drinks and DJs. Then from 6pm, Open Eye Gallery and Tate Liverpool open their galleries after hours to continue the previews for this year’s festival.
This event is no longer running.
