24 June / 6pm - 8pm / FACTLab / FREE
A monthly gathering for people who use technology in their creative practice. Local and visiting artists, designers, coders and provocateurs will talk about their work, processes and experiences. We hope this will encourage practice-led research initiatives and collaborations between people in the creative technology community.
For this session we will be joined by Invisible Wind Factory, a Liverpool-based arts collective comprising of members from the Kazimier, who create experiences, taking audiences on voyages of augmented reality; manipulating senses, exploring the spectrum of human emotion; taking individuals into reflective isolation or exploring the euphoria of unifying a collective.
They inhabit a large building on Liverpool’s North Docks containing a series of fabrication, sound and electronic workshops and an 8000 square foot Realisation Arena.
We will also have the chance to hear from C H R Θ M A, a collaborative partnership between Kate Genevieve and Paul Hayes. Chroma create public, participatory events that explore the flexible relationship between the physical and the virtual using experimental performance together with immersive and interactive technologies.
Their work has taken place in theatre settings and art galleries as well as unusual site-specific installations where the audience’s perception, bodies and movement become a vital part of the experience.
