Our next cohort will start on the 25th April and the theme will be Music Technology.
Over 8 weeks girls aged 14 to 17 will be encouraged and inspired to consider a career in technology. Our tutor Alex Hindley from music company Bandcamp will teach the girls Coding through software called Sonic Pi, introducing role models and concepts along the way. We will also go on a field trip to our partners at Liverpool John Moores University, where we will see some music tech in action. We only have 15 places and girls are asked to fill in an application form by Monday 10th April.
"I have really enjoyed my time at the Girl Geek Academy, learning new stuff I’ve never really thought about, colour psychology for example, which helps develop both my coding skills and me as person. It’s been great!”
- Beth Heale, Girl Geek Academy 2016 participant (aged 14)
"The Girl Geek Academy has been a huge success. It’s been so inspiring working with 15 girls who have continued to work hard week on week so that they can have careers within technology. I can’t wait to see them shine!"
- Chelsea Slater, Co-Founder of Liverpool Girl Geeks and Managing Director
