In late 2011, one of the greatest underground filmmakers of all time, George Kuchar, sadly passed away. To commerate his life and oeuvre for fans and non-fans like, FACT and Queerfest are producing a special screening, which will include the North West Premiere of award-winning documentary film, It Came form Kuchar which details the filmmaker’s life in a tale of artistic obsession, compulsion and inspiration. A selection of George Kuchar’s most remarkable and legandary short films will accompany this. Cited by the late John Waters as one of his greatest inspirations, and having recently donned the cover of Little Joe, the screening will be accompanied by a special introduction.
This year's Queerfest is inspired by the legacy of cult filmmaker, John Waters. Showcasing new cinema and restored classics by luminaries who inspired or have been inspired, by John Waters, Queerfest, presents kitsch, campy and classic cinema, rarely ever seen in Liverpool and accessible to cinema lovers everywhere.
