IN REAL LIFE asks what exactly the Internet is and what it’s doing to our children. Taking us on a journey from the bedrooms of British teenagers to Silicon Valley, filmmaker Beeban Kidron suggests that despite the promise of free and open connection, young people are increasingly ensnared in a commercial world.
Weaving together interviews with UK teens and Internet experts, including Jimmy Wales, Clay Shirky, Cory Doctorow and Sherry Turkle, Kidron builds her case and asks if we can afford to stand by while our children, trapped in their 24/7 connectivity, are being outsourced to the net.
