Itinerant worker Gary (THE PAST and A PROPHET’s mesmerising Rahim) gets a job at a run-down nuclear power station.

He soon finds himself involved in a reckless affair with Karole (Seydoux, BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR), the fiancée of his roughneck, combustible colleague Toni (Ménochet, IN THE HOUSE), while the poorly run plant threatens to release lethal radiation.

The moral paradox that looms in the background – everyone is working in a dangerous environment, but if they become contaminated they lose their jobs – throws Gary and Karole’s dilemma into sharp relief.

The performances in writer-director Zlotowski’s highly accomplished second feature are grittily compelling, especially by Léa Seydoux (who also starred in Zlotowski’s BELLE ÉPINE) and Denis Ménochet, and the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat.
