BAFTA Crew Masterclass: Anita Overland on Production Management Picture house at FACT

BAFTA presents a masterclass with BAFTA-winning producer and co-producer, Anita Overland (The Iron Lady, Red Riding, In This World). Beginning her career as a line producer before moving to co-producing and producing, Anita will discuss her craft and varied career in production management, both above and below the line, working across a huge variety of budgets, locations and genres.

Having just completed work as a co-producer on Rush for director Ron Howard and producer Andrew Eaton at Revolution Films, Anita most recently produced The Iron Lady in 2012 starring Meryl Streep in a BAFTA and Oscar-winning performance for director Phyllida Lloyd and producer Damien Jones. In 2008-2009, for television, Anita also produced the acclaimed Red Riding Trilogy collaborating with Andrew Eaton and directors Julian Jarrold, James Marsh and Anand Tucker. Anita’s previous co-producer credits include A Mighty Heart starring Angelina Jolie and Tristram Shandy for director Michael Winterbottom, she also served as a producer on another Winterbottom and Eaton collaboration, In This World, which won a BAFTA for Best Film in a Foreign Language in 2004. Anita’s credits as a line producer include Anthony Minghella’s Breaking and Entering, and two earlier Winterbottom projects, The Claim and Wonderland. Known for her collaborations and having made the transition from line producer and co-producer to award-winning producer herself, Anita will discuss this career path in the production management department, sharing both her practical and creative experience in getting films made.
