Nikolaj Arcel's (scriptwriter of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) film focuses on the illicit relationship between Struensee and Queen Caroline Mathilde (Vikander), a secret love that divided the royal court and sparked a revolution.

This bold and sensuous 18th-century period drama has rightly won plaudits on the European festival circuit, most notably in Berlin, where it scooped two Silver Bears.
