About The Wall
This initiative responds to FACT's aim to enhance its support of emerging creators from the region, working with any medium, and actively participate in promoting them and introducing them in professional art circuits. Our open call are open to both individuals and groups of artists. Applications are assesed by a panel of experts against a set of criteria for each exhibition. Keep an eye on News & Views and our Facebook and Twitter pages where we'll announce details of forthcoming open calls for The Wall.
Now showing on The Wall
Liverpool based Me_Me Collective were selected to produce a timeline of the last ten years of exhibitions, collaborations and external technological landmarks which have influenced FACT.
Sedimentary Timeline features some of the key moments from FACT’s first decade on Wood Street including our first ever exhibition with Isaac Julien, Liverpool’s Capital of Culture Year and our huge variety of engagement projects.
‘Sedimentary’ describes the layers of events and information that build up over time. The physical layering of the elements represents the mix of cultural, personal and world events in FACT’s history. The scale of different types of information means that the focus of the piece changes as you draw closer to the wall.
