Outside the gallery and in the public realm, MADE UP allows fiction to rub up against the everyday, inviting artists to carve out space for the imagination, whether in imaginary models made manifest, or in playful reworkings of our life world.
From the ceiling, suspended above the main public space on the ground floor, we present an awe-inspiring automated creature created by U-Ram Choe and in Gallery 1 we have Ulf Langheinrich's fully immersive, sonsory environment. Stranger than Fiction brings together a selection of artists - Terrence Handscomb, Lisa Reihana, Stella Brennan and Michael Bell-Smith - in Gallery 2, alongside work by Muchen featured in the FACT Café.
