it's Liverpool on Film Competition: 5 Day Challenge

  • 30 April 2013 - 14 May 2013

Lights, camera, action for Liverpool film competition! The it’s Liverpool On Film competition returns for 2013, with the 5 Day Challenge. Entrants will be given a theme related to 'home' and they will then have 5 days to create a short film based on the theme and including unique elements such as a famous line or prop from a movie and how well they are incorporated will form part of the judging criteria. The competition is being run by it’s Liverpool and Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) and FACT and to mark the housing association’s fifth birthday.

How to enter

The competition has now closed. The selected videos will be announced soon!

It’s Liverpool, working with Liverpool Film Office, said: ”We are delighted to be running the competition again. The quality of the entries last year was overwhelming, and we can’t wait to see what this new element brings to the competition.

“The film must be filmed in Liverpool, and not just the city centre, so we look forward to seeing some of the city’s hidden gems revealed, showing the people, places and passions of our great city.

“Absolutely anyone can enter, so good luck to you all!“

Those who enter will all be emailed a theme relating to ‘home’ on 3 May to ensure everyone starts at the same time and has five days to produce a film lasting no more than five minutes for judges to review.

The Prizes

The winner will collect £1,000, second place will be given £500 and third place will pick up £250. The top five films will also be given a year’s FACT membership.

There will be additional categories for films created by under-19s (they will still be eligible for the main prizes) with the top three films given cash Picturehouse vouchers and FACT membership.

The producer of the top film will win a private screening for up to 40 friends in the Box at FACT too.

The film with the most ‘likes’ on YouTube will win the ‘People’s Award’ and a £100 Picturehouse voucher.

The best films will be screened at FACT on 29 May before the five shortlisted films are shown during LMH’s tenant conference and awards event on 4 June at the ECHO Arena.
