Artist Sascha Pohflepp has created a special app inspired by the Persistence of Vision exhibition
As part of FACT's current
Persistence of Vision exhibition, artist Sascha Pohflepp (whose other art project
Fixr is currently on display in our public spaces) has designed an exciting app,
Buttons, which turns your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad into a clever networked object.
When you take a photo using
Buttons, it logs the exact time or location of your photo and searches the Internet for other images taken in exactly the same moment or place. The image will appear on your screen shortly after, and you are left with a shared moment with somebody, who could be anywhere in the world.
The app, developed by
Elastik, is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPads. It is available to purchase from the
Apple iTunes store for a special introductory price of £1.19. But if you feel like trying it out, there’s an iPod touch installed to borrow from FACT’s Information Desk - just ask at the desk for more information.
Sascha also created the
Fixr work in the FACT foyer.
Fixr allows you to record memories you didn't photograph, but really wish you did. Visit the
Fixr terminal in the foyer or
online, and enter your memory to become part of the ever growing
gallery of moments slowly taking over FACT's walls and atrium ceiling.
