F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu concerns the mysterious Count Orlok and an unexplained series of gruesome deaths in Bremen, Germany. Only one person knows that these fatalities aren't caused by just a simple plague and that Count Orlok the Vampire is to blame.
This beautiful, eerie and haunting film went on to inspire and influence horror and vampire movies for years and is now rightly regarded as aclassic. Heavily based on Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, the filmmakers hoped to avoid having to pay for the rights to the book by changing the characters names and the story's locations. After the film's release however, they lost a lawsuit and many of the films prints and the original negatives were destroyed.
