What does hospitality mean today, in an era when the media has
blurred the lines between conflict zones and living rooms? In a
world, where street games have been foregone for intensive singular
video game play?
The themes of Liverpool Biennial 2012, address various notions of
hospitality and FACT has commissioned a series of artists and
projects that explore these complex questions and
intersections.
To launch the Biennial at FACT, a free Artist Talk previewing new
commissions and collaborations will take place at 4.30pm this
Thursday in the Box.
This is your chance to hear different takes on the Liverpool
Biennial's 2012 theme from the artists themselves and to pose your
very own questions, before catching a sneak glimpse of the FACT
biennial exhibition before it opens to the public.
Speakers include the Jarman award-winning Anja Kirschner and David
Panos and Jemima Wyman who will be joined by FACT's curator, Omar
Kholeif and a special last minute addition all the way from New
York City - Joanne McNeil, Senior Editor of Rhizome.org, the new
media organisation who is working with FACT on the Biennial's
online programme.
We hope that you can join us! Tickets are free, but booking is
required, get yours online, by calling 0871 902 5737 or in person
at the Box Office.
