Recently FACT spent a lovely day at Newsham Park Arts festival. Unfortunately this year we weren't able to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of the park but instead took over The Academy of St Francis of Assisi for the day and unlike everything, else spirits were not dampened!

The festival focuses on visual arts, performance
and creativity and is supported by a myriad of fringe activities.
It is created by and for local schools, the local community and the
people of Liverpool. Aiming to raise cultural awareness, promote
community cohesion and providing opportunities for artists to meet
and work with the community - the event is one we are always
pleased to be invited along to!
This year we took our hula hoops and t-shirts and
invited people to help us Weave our Collective Dreams! The
weavings created will contribute to the collaborative artwork
of Jemima Wyman and will be exhibited as part
of FACT's Exhibition for this years Liverpool Biennial.
We will be running these workshops with local school and
community groups in the lead up to the festival. If you are a
Teacher or Group Leader and would like FACT to run one of these
workshops with you, get in touch. The sessions fuse
traditional weaving and meditative art therapy techniques and the
final products will form part of Jemima's piece that will grow
across the ground floor throughout the Biennial.
