- Skynet wasn't always evil! It originally was a network of
supercomputers that had artificial intelligence. They were created
to be able to operate weaponry in order to protect humans and
reduce human error, it wasn't until they became self aware and
fearing that they would be shut down.
- James Cameron's agent at the time hated the idea of The
Terminator and told Cameron to give up on it. Cameron gave up
on his agent instead and fired him.
- Maybe a long shot, but there is talk that RoboCop is a
long lost ancestor of The Terminator. In 1992, Frank
Miller wrote the comic series, RoboCop versus The
Terminator where he proposes that the technology that built
RoboCop woud eventually be used in the creation of
- The idea for The Terminator apparently came from a
dream that James Cameron had whilst staying in Rome for the release
of the well known filmic masterpiece (!), Piranha II: The
Spawning. He dreamt about a metallic torso, dragging itself
from an explosion whilst holding kitchen knives.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger's famous line in The Terminator
"I'll be back" was originally in the script as "I'll come back". On
the subject of dialogue, he was made $15million for The
Terminator 2 for which he had 700 words to say. This meant
that "Hasta la vista, baby" cost $85.716!
