Freehand go to the Moon

A short documentary about Freehand's first CRASH workshop with current exhibiting artists WE COLONISED THE MOON

WE COLONISED THE MOON (WCTM) have embarked on a series on lunar workshops with our very own FACT Freehander's. They will be imagining, designing and building space probes, shuttles, explorers and planet rovers which are all planned to crash as they arrive at their lunar destination. Rather than seeing a crash as a failure, they will be filmed in HD High Speed creating a piece of artwork in itself.

Filmmaker Tim Brunsden has created this short documentary about the Freehander's first session which includes a short intro to Enter At Own Risk by one half of WCTM, Hagen Betzwieser as well as interviews with the Freehanders themselves. There is some great speculation about what would happen to a sphere on impact...

See Enter At Own Risk in Gallery 2 as part of our current exhibition, Republic of the Moon, until 26 February.  The astronaut will be maintaining the lunar landscape between 2pm and 6pm every Saturday and Sunday.
