The enormous pop-up cinema, housed inside a truck, will screen four feature films, including the premiere of a new LGBT film made in Liverpool; Soft Lad (2014). The cinema will be open between 2pm and 10pm on 1 August, and tickets are priced at £6 per screening for this one day film festival celebrating LGBT talent and social awareness.
This special programme of movies, supported by Unison North West LGBT Group and Thinking Film has been curated especially for Pride, and includes cult classic Hairspray (1988), inspirational true story Pride (2014), the locally produced Soft Lad directed by Leon Lopez, and finally Colin Rothbart's Dressed as a Girl (2015).
Being England’s only HGV-based mobile cinema screen, equipped with DCI digital projection, temperature control and 100 comfortable seats, it's exciting to have the vehicle in Liverpool this summer! The 36 and a half tonne truck extends out to form a 55ft long, 22ft wide and 15ft tall cinema - so what are you waiting for - take your seats!
Screening times are as follows:
Hairspray (12) – 2pm
Pride (15) – 4pm
Soft Lad (15) – 6.30pm
Dressed as a Girl (18) – 8.30pm
