Picturehouse at FACT's new headphones can be used to allow visually impaired and hard of hearing customers to enjoy our facilities more easily with the ability to control the volume. There is also access to a narration track describing what is happening on screen for those who are blind or visually impaired.

Additionally, we also now have body packs to create a personal induction loop to be used by customers who have a hearing aid, to get the soundtrack of the film. Customers who are hard of hearing can also plug in their own earphones into the pack.

General manager Colin Alexander says getting this equipment up and running has been one of his key focuses since starting at FACT in January.

“Accessibility is a great passion of mine, and I’m really happy to see this technology become available for our customers,” he said.

“It’s going to give a lot more opportunity for cinema lovers in the area to see the films that we screen.”
