On 7 & 8 November at Liverpool Empire Theatre, Welsh National Opera presents a unique opportunity for Under 30s, offering £5 tickets for the best seats in the house to one of the most alluring, popular and well-known operas in the world; Carmen.

This much celebrated opera is considered by many to be the ultimate night at the theatre. Carmen is a passionate tale of desire and devastation that’s brought to life by some of the most familiar music ever written. You’ll find yourself humming along to music you never thought you knew!

You don’t have to be a theatre buff to enjoy this drama that is enhanced by atmospheric scenery and superb costumes and accompanied by the internationally renowned WNO Chorus and Orchestra.

French composer Georges Bizet’s masterpiece will transport you back to 19th century Spain, a hot and intoxicating climate where the force of nature that is Carmen comes to life. Although sung in French, you don’t have to speak a word of the language to follow the story. English surtitles above the stage mean you'll fully understand the drama unfolding before you.

Utterly unbowed by social norms, Carmen – too beautiful, too fiery and too fast – can only attract trouble. Don José has no choice but to fall for her. A man sent spinning by the whirlwind of Carmen, struggling with longing and the demands of conscience and duty. Can you resist?

Tickets for Carmen start at £5 and are available from Liverpool Empire Theatre box office. Call 0844 8713012 or click here to book online. To ensure you gain your £5 “Under 30” ticket, please present ID when booking and collecting.
