"On Saturday we were excited to welcome 3D Printing Network Manchester (#3DPM) to FACT for the first time. They are an enthusiastic bunch of 3D printing experts working in different areas of research, science, engineering  and design. The team came armed with two 3D printers and plenty of examples of printed designs for our families to play with!
The idea was to give families chance to explore the 3D printing process from start to finish. Children started by drawing designs for their Christmas decorations, tried their hand at using free CAD software (google Sketchup) to make 3D renders of their design. They then had a chance to see the 3D printers in action and everyone had the chance to take away a decoration."
#3DPM will be back this coming Saturday between 12pm and 4pm so if you’re interested pop in and say hello. For more information, check out our project page.

You can also find out more about #3DPM by visiting their blog at 3dprintgroup.blogspot.co.uk. Alternatively follow them on Twitter @3DPManchester
